Dr. C. Valatheeswaran is a lecturer in Labour Economics, Centre for Advanced Research (CARe), Universiti Brunei Darussalam. Earlier, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Social Sciences Institute (MUSSI), National University of Ireland, Maynooth. He is currently working on the PANIWATER research project which is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program. He did his Ph.D and M.Phil in Applied Economics at Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Trivandrum affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He has published research papers related to migration studies in peer-reviewed international journals such as Migration Letters, International Migration, Refugee Survey Quarterly, Indian Journal of Labour Economics and Margin: The Applied Economic Research. He has also worked as a co-researcher on various research projects funded by European Union (EU), International Organisation for Migration (IOM), Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) Government of India, Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Government of Kerala and Government of Tamil Nadu. His research interests include migration and refugee studies, labour economics, human capital, water and policy evaluation.
