Dr Rakesh Ranjan is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Development Practice and Research, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India. He has been working on international labour migration, remittances, Diaspora and immigrant entrepreneurship for more than a decade. He has worked with the India Centre for Migration, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and the Global Research Forum on Diaspora and Transnationalism, New Delhi. He also had brief stints at the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore and the Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum. Rakesh has recently authored a book with Prof. Md Mizanur Rahman on “Indian Diaspora Homeland Engagement: Education and Healthcare Sector”, published by Oxford University Press.
