With stabilized or declining populations in the south, these states face the possibility of losing parliamentary seats, raising questions about equity in political representation. The article highlights the challenges of quick regulatory measures like the two-child policy in Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing that such approaches often result in unintended social and demographic imbalances.
